Did you know that the second coming of Jesus Christ, our dear Savior, was actually delayed in this Earth’s history? Most Adventist don’t even understand why we have been in this world so long.

I was talking to somebody a long time ago when I was in full-time ministry in Chicago. I was explaining the second coming of Christ to them and they told me we have been saying that for over a hundred years and it still hasn’t happened. They realized that something was not right because the pioneers of Seventh Day Adventists have been dead over 100 years!

Jesus has been in the Most Holy Place of the heavenly sanctuary for over 175 years since 1844! What in the world has happened! Our Savior doesn’t lie and He said,

“Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.” (Revelation 3:11)

“Behold, I come quickly: blessed [is] he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.” (Revelation 22:7)

“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward [is] with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” (Revelation 22:12)

“He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:20)

Although Jesus made it clear that when His Second Coming in about to happen, it will happen FAST! The days will go by fast and the Coming of Christ will speedily happen. Yes we can all see the days flying by very very quickly these days, yet some Adventist still think that because we have been preaching over a hundred years that the Second Coming is very near and about to happen soon, it has become a cliche to many of them.

What they don’t understand is their own Seventh-Day Adventist history. If they understood their own precious Adventist history, they would recognize that Jesus was getting ready to come a little time after the year 1888, but they rejected His message that would have prepared the pioneers of our faith for translation to heaven without seeing death.

Once they rejected His message it was impossible for God to translate that generation thus the Second Coming was delayed because they rejected the translation message.

When this hit me I was shocked! I was holding back tears when this hit me when God share this with me. We rejected God’s special message and this delayed the second coming of Christ.

This special message was rejected at the 1888 conference in Minneapolis Minnesota. As it is important for us to know the history of Calvary and the salvation that the Eternal Son of God wrought out for us, so it is also important for us to understand our 1888 through 1896 Seventh Day Adventist history.

In 1896 we sealed the rejection of the message which would have brought Jesus back in that generation. It is urgent that you as a Seventh-Day Adventist understand this so we can preach the very message that will bring Jesus back in our generation!
