The Special resurrection of Daniel 12:2 is the resurrection of the 144,000 who fell asleep keeping the Sabbath in the faith of the third angel’s message.

It's also for those who played a key role in His trial and crucifixion.

In Great Controversy p. 637 the Holy Spirit places the special resurrection of Daniel 12:2 at the beginning of the 7th plague.

After talking about the events linked with the 7th plague, the Spirit of Prophecy says, “Graves are opened, and “many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth ... awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.” Daniel 12:2. All who have died in the faith of the third angel’s message come forth from the tomb glorified, to hear God’s covenant of peace with those who have kept His law. “They also which pierced Him” (Revelation 1:7), those that mocked and derided Christ’s dying agonies, and the most violent opposers of His truth and His people, are raised to behold Him in His glory and to see the honor placed upon the loyal and obedient.” (Great Controversy p. 637)

Do you see how the special resurrection is linked with all who have died in the faith of the third angel’s message and it’s placed at the beginning of the seventh plague?

When the Seven last plagues are poured out probation is closed and when probation closes there is no more sharing the Gospel to the world.

Early Writings p. 118, Revelation 7:2-4, and a study of the 144,000 by Uriah Smith, shows us that it is the 3rd angel who seals the 144,000.

Therefore anyone who name comes up in judgment and it be found that they died in the faith of the third angel’s message will be sealed with the 144,000 and come up in the special resurrection.
