The Third Angel’s Message and Justification By Faith
The message of justification by Faith is the Third Angel's Message in reality. The Scriptures teaches that fallen man is justified only by faith.
"Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law." Romans 3:28
"Therefore being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 5:1
"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified." Galatians 2:16
"All will be justified by their faith and judged by their works." Testimonies Volume Four p. 386
The Bible clearly teaches that we are justified which means given righteousness, salvation, and everlasting life, by faith alone and not by works. Galatians 2:16 teaches that we are justified, which means given righteousness, salvation, and everlasting life by the FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST. Therefore anyone who has the FAITH OF JESUS has automatic justification, or automatic righteousness, salvation, and everlasting life.
What is the Third Angel's Message? "And the third angel followed them saying with a loud voice...Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God AND THE FAITH OF JESUS." Revelation 14:9,12
The third angel points to a people in the last days of this Earth's history who not only keep the commandments of God, but they also KEEP THE FAITH OF JESUS. This is the Third Angel's Message. According to Galatians 2:16 we are justified by the faith of Jesus, therefore anyone who has the faith of Jesus has justification or has righteousness, salvation, and everlasting life. According to Revelation 14,9:12 the work of the Third Angel is to produce a people in the final generation who keep God's commandments and who keep the faith of Jesus. Again, the faith of Jesus brings automatic justification to anyone who has it and the faith of Jesus is right there in the closing words of the Third Angel's Message, "Here are they that keep the commandments of God and THE FAITH OF JESUS." Therefore, the Third Angel's Message is JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH.
Anyone who accepts the third angel’s message must accept the faith of Jesus which will bring them automatic justification. So the third angel’s message provides final generation sinners with full justification or full righteousness, salvation, and everlasting life by faith alone!
“Several have written to me, inquiring if the message of justification by faith is the third angel’s message, and I have answered, ‘It is the third angel’s message in verity.’' Review and Herald April 1, 1890
The servant of the Lord makes it very clear that the message of justification by faith is the third angel’s message. God inspired her to write this because many who heard the message of righteousness by faith at the Minneapolis conference in 1888 wanted to know how that message related to the third angel’s message.
"A serious question arose in the minds of some who heard the message of righteousness by faith presented at the Minneapolis Conference, as to the relation that message bore to the third angel's message. In their perplexity a number wrote to Mrs. E.G. White for an expression of her views on this question." A.G. Daniels pioneer of our faith, Christ Our Righteousness p. 64
Since the third angel’s message is justification by faith, this shows us that the message of justification by faith and the message of the third angel is the same message and is designed to produce or accomplish the same exact thing.
The pioneer said, "Justification by faith, it is affirmed, is "the third angel's message in verity." The words "in verity" mean, in fact, in reality, in very truth. That means that the message of justification by faith and the third angel's message are the SAME IN PURPOSE, in scope, and in results." A.G. Daniels Christ Our Righteousness p.64
For what purpose did God gave us the third angel's message? "God's purpose in giving the third angels message to the world is to prepare a people to stand true to Him during the investigative judgment. This is the purpose for which we establish and maintain our publishing houses, our schools, our sanitariums, high genetic restaurants, treatment rooms, and food factories. This is our purpose in carrying forward every line of our work in the cause." Manuscript Releases volume 1 page 228.
The purpose for which God gave us the third angel's message is to prepare us to stand true to Him during the investigative judgement. Therefore the work of the third angel is to produce a people who can stand true to him during the judgement of the dead that started when the 2300 days terminated in 1844. Why does God want a people who are living to stand true to Him while the dead are being judged? Because there is also a second and far more important part of the investigative judgement and that is the JUDGEMENT OF THE LIVING!
While the judgement of the dead is going on in the heavenly sanctuary, the work of the third angel is to get a people prepared to stand true to Him when the judgement passes from the judgement of the dead to the judgement of the living!
The message of justification by faith and the third angels message is the same message and is sent by God to accomplish the same work. Therefore God sent us the message of justification by faith to get a people prepared to stand true to Him when the judgement passes from the judgement of the dead to the JUDGEMENT OF THE LIVING! The 1888 message of justification by faith will prepare God's Church for when it's TIME TO INVESTIGATE THE CASES OF THE LIVING.
